Snippet caught walking down the street near my workplace:
Young woman: “Well, let me be clear, if you take my perspective to be true, then…”
Young man: [Nodding, dumbly — perhaps this was a new relationship] “Um, it’s not that it’s not true but…”
I felt like butting in and yelling…
“Your perspective can’t be true. Your perspective is your point of view or your mental outlook…..geez…”
I didn’t, of course, I just went numb and moved along.
So disturbing to see two young people (our future!) debating on the street without the benefit of vocabulary.
I blame television.
