This is me in grade nine, baby, this is me in grade nine

I’ve got a blue and red adidas bag and a humongous binder
I’m trying my best not to look like a minor niner.

Notes:

  • Women’s Tretorn Gullwing Nylite tennis shoes. (As if I played tennis at Midland C.I.)
  • Army shorts?
  • I remember that top. I thought it was the cutest thing.  (I was mistaken, obviously.)
  • Look, a red swatch watch (I still enjoy a Swatch and have two.)
  • The socks were a huge error. Huge!
  • Yes, that’s a perm.
  • I think I am engaged in the Chicken Dance.

Comments

  1. I love the look! And the attitude. Not to mention the perm.
(And you dared to sneer at my tight-ankle jeans and leather jacket??!!)

  2. How many times can I apologize? I really am sorry. I think about it every day. I was kidding … and it was 10 years ago. Plus, you are so stylish now. I wish I never commented on that outfit. I wish I could take it all back somehow.

"One key to getting along well with people is knowing when to say you’re sorry. Sometimes little comments or actions can hurt or offend others. Heavy workloads and stress may keep us from seeing how our actions make others feel. The little things can add up. It doesn’t take long for someone to hold a grudge and for grudges to grow into conflicts. In most cases, if someone is offended by something you do or say, it’s much better to apologize right away. That solves the small problem and keeps it from getting bigger. "

  3. I’d blame the socks on someone else … like your parents. Bad socks must be due to parental pressures.

…and didn’t you have that hair when i met you????? 😉

(who does the chicken some place other that a wedding????)

  4. Good idea, alee. When you met me I did have a bob … and it was indeed about the same length but without the 80s perm. I have no idea why we were doing the chicken dance. I guess I never will.
